A New Kind of Normal

Well here we are mid way through February already! After an amazing 6 weeks home in Australia we are back in Dubai.

Goodbyes are never easy and this time it was harder than ever to depart. In fact where possible, I just totally skipped the goodbyes this time.

This week is a big one for us - the beginning of our new 'normal' life and routines. I returned to work on Sunday and so far we are surviving. There were a few tears, mostly mine and surprisingly, a couple from Piper. It turns out our Daddy's girl has enjoyed having me around these last few months more than we had realised.

Frankie seems to be doing what she does best - cruising along and taking it all in her stride. She is as chilled out as ever, and thankfully still sleeping 10 - 12 hours straight at night.

All in all we are happy, healthy and looking forward to some adventures and a fun year!

Below are some more pics from our time at home with family and friends x

Arrived...

We arrived in Australia safe and sound albeit very very cold! It was a shock to the system to arrive on a freezing 14 degree stormy day and find ourselves greeted by hailstorms.
It has been a busy few days of weddings, baby showers and work but it will all hopefully slow down for the next couple of days before the weekend arrives again and with it a great big family wedding which we are sooo excited about! I promise to jump on here tomorrow and post up some new photo's. In the meantime below is my fave photo from our flight.
Piper sure is becoming a well travelled toddler..... within minutes she had opened her flight kit Emirates provided and pulled on the socks and eye mask ready for her flight, I am surprised she didn't hit the bell and request a wine!

We have arrived!!

We have arrived safe and sound! Piper was an angel and slept for 10 hours on the plane, in fact she was asleep straight after take-off and I wasn't far behind.

After the horrific Melbourne weather that farewelled us on Thursday it was somewhat of a shock to the system to be greeted in Dubai by 37 degrees at 5am in the morning. Overnight lows at the moment are low 30's with mid 40's during the day.

We are slowly finding our feet. We all woke yesterday morning at 4am and couldn't get back to sleep so we decided to beat the heat and take a nice long walk around the Burj Kahlifa and Old Town at 5am to start our day.
Of course Piper was not going to let her first day pass without a big swim in the pool. She causes somewhat of a scene as she is so confident in the water she happily swims around the pool with her life vest on without holding on to one of us. Then when she thinks she is losing the attention of the crowd she clambers onto the edge of the pool to loudly sing Humpty Dumpty and jump in the pool!

Thank you again to everybody for your farewell wishes and apologies to those we did not get to see in person to say goodbye xo
